Travelling while pregnant

General Acceptance

Expectant mothers are accepted to travel on Biman.

However, pregnant passengers between 26 and 32 weeks of pregnancy must present a “Fit to Fly” medical certificate issued by a registered physician. The “Fit to Fly” certificate must be issued within 72 hours prior to the commencement of the flight.

You must either email the completed form to Biman's Chief Medical Officer (CMO) cmo@bdbiman.com or contact: +8801777715522 at least 72 hours before your intended travel.

Travel Restrictions

From 33rd weeks of pregnancy, pregnant mothers will not be permitted to travel on Biman Bangladesh Airlines flights.

Procedure for Non-Compliance

If an expectant mother reports for travel without a valid “Fit to Fly” certificate, she must be referred to the Airport Health Authority or a licensed physician to obtain the required certification. Passengers who are unable to secure the certificate will not be allowed to board the flight.

Seating and Medical Considerations
  • Seating: Expectant mothers can be assigned a preferable aisle seat near a lavatory upon vacancy to accommodate frequent restroom visits.
  • Oxygen Support: In case of shortness of breath, oxygen support may be provided if necessary.
